  • European indices launch new week little changed
  • Sentix index for euro area, US wholesale inventories
  • Earnings from PayPal and Palantir

European stock markets launched a new week little changed. This comes after an upbeat Asian session where major indices gained in reaction to solid Wall Street session on Friday. Oil is trading higher at the start of a new week and so is natural gas. Precious metals benefit from USD weakening.

Economic calendar for today is light with only second-tier data scheduled for release. Traders will be offered Sentix index for May from the euro area in the morning, followed by the US wholesale inventories report for March in the afternoon. ECB Lane is set to speak twice today and it may lead to some additional volatility on EUR market. PayPal and Palantir will report earnings after Wall Street session today. Things get more interesting later into the week with US CPI data on Wednesday (1:30 pm BST) and Bank of England rate decision on Thursday (12:00 pm BST).

9:30 am BST – Euro area, Sentix index for May. Expected: -7.9. Previous: -8.7

3:00 pm BST – US, wholesale inventories for March. Expected: 0.1% MoM. Previous: 0.1% MoM
